First Impressions

A first impression may seem like a 'hi, whats your name and what do you do?'.

But you actually use your eyes for first impressions. Everyone will look at something first and something second before getting a proper first impression, but you can sometimes be wrong by just looking at their face.

The very first thing I notice about people I just met, is their legs. I know it sounds weird, but their legs. When I started school, I looked down at the teachers leges and thought, 'She looks nice, but I wonder if she is.' And then I slowly raise my head, scanning their entire body. I then either say hi to them, or wait until he/she asks for my name.

The second thing I notice about people is hair. A quick glance at their legs, and then a speedy lift of my head, allows me to look at their before I look back to their legs.

Silence. Not a crime?

Just so you know, the new theme is normal!

Stealing is bad, but witnesses keeping quiet is worse.

In an american mall, most things are in bulk. So things that would be worth more over here in Australia, would be worth less in America. If I saw someone stealing I would: if it was worth less, tell my friend or relative to get the police while I distract him, or just call the police. If something was very valuable, I would draw attention to him, making him feel uncomfortable. In any way, he would be caught. Even if he was stealing a pencil, I would still do it, because it is wrong to steal.

Even though petty theft isn’t much of a crime, it’s worse the graffiti. Plus keeping quiet would just encourage them to steal more!

Finally, as I lift my head, I look at the clothing they wear. instead of seeing if they are jeans or dresses, I look at what is on their clothes. For example, I look at the patterns of a dress. Or a whether or not the jeans are skin-tight or not.

By looking at something first, then second, then third, gives you a stronger opinion of who they are. This is why you should speak to them as-well.

three songs I never get tired of hearing.

firework by Katy perry

I love the song, but the problem is I listen to it to much! I love to sing it in the shower. Its an excellent song but slightly weird. the mix of tunes is fantastic!

skater boy by Avril Lavigne

A good tune and a good video! I love this song like bamboo with a panda! It is a short song. this song was sung when Avril Lavigne was about sixteen. it's an excellent song.

Dirty talk by Wynter Gordon

A song that you get very attached to that is not very good but when you listen to it, you can't help wanting to play it again. She sings repetitively 'I am no angel' as well as 'dirty talk' and 'I like the way you do those things to me' as-well as other words to join the song. The video is fine just some of the cloths are not the best

an hour in sci-fi land

Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine

Imagine you only had one hour in a time machine surrounded with buttons, you'd think this button might do, but then again this lever is blue and blue is my favourite colour. So I will just press this button instead of fight of those two buttons. you trip over and then you pull the do-as-I-say lever. You think for a while and then you say to the future! the machine stars to rattle the machine lifts itself of the ground and then a bright pink flash flashes inside!

You look around and everything is blue. robots walk around, and there is no sight of humans. suddenly all the robots stare at you and charge at you, you run for your life until you read a sign that you don't understand but went threw anyway. Humans welcomed you and you were showed to a penthouse hotel room. The next day you find yourself in bed and at home. you realise that it was just a dream. But what about the picture on the wall?

Maybe the film you were making didn't out very well.

sushi-lator

a new elevator has been invented called the sushi-lator. boy-o-boy I can’t wait to use it. the following info has been taken from the dailymail! enjoy!

For more than 100 years the escalator has traditionally travelled either up or down and in a straight line.

But all that is set to change thanks to a revolutionary new design that is being hailed as the future of escalator travel.

The Levytator, named after its inventor Jack Levy, professor of mechanical engineering at City University in London, is the world’s first escalator capable of following free-form curves.

It is already being nicknamed the ‘Sushi-lator’ because of its curved modules, which resemble the conveyor belts used to deliver food in trendy Japanese restaurants.

These curved steps allow it to twist, bend and snake around corners in a continuous loop, all with passengers on board.

All of which means architects can create escalators in any shape they want, whether as a conveyor belt around a department store, a ride around a theme park or, more simply, placed on top of an existing staircase.

The popularity of the imaginative design is clear. A YouTube video showing how the Levytator works has gone viral with more than 230,000 hits since it was first posted in September.

The inspiration for the free-form escalator’s design came to Professor Levy while travelling around the London Underground.

‘I wondered why the escalators had to be straight,’ he told The Independent. ‘Sometimes it’s really convenient to go round a corner.’

The traditional escalator works by turning the steps upside down and looping them underneath the staircase to take them back to the start. Half the steps are therefore hidden away and never ‘in use’.

Furthermore, the ‘up’ and ‘down’ escalators require two separate loops, each costing around £100,000 each.

The Levytator, on the other hand, has one single loop, making it a cheaper proposition because fewer steps are required.

This works because when they reach the top, the steps disappear under the floor and then reappear for the downward journey.

The design also means repairs can be carried out from above, avoiding the weeks and months it currently takes to fix faulty escalators.

Professor Levy said: ‘Traditional escalators developed topsy-turvy, but we’re starting with a clean sheet of paper.’

Safety is another factor that is likely to appeal to architects the world over – the Levytator has no gap between the stairs and the walls where people and things have for years become jammed.

Professor Levy said: ‘Worldwide, there are 10,000 accidents on escalators every year, including several deaths. On two occasions I’ve seen people piling up at the bottom of an escalator and had to press the emergency stop button.’

His design has already been patented in the UK, Europe, the U.S. and China and Levytators could be cropping up in public buildings and shopping centres by mid-2012.

The first escalator in Britain was installed in Harrods department store in Knightsbridge, London, in 1898, two years after it was invented in the U.S.

Lindsay Lohan accuser fired

very recently, the person who accused Lindsay Lohan { Dawn Holland, worker at the Betty Ford center} was fired due to speaking publicly about the incident. Dawn Holland filed a criminal complaint against Lindsay Lohan after an alleged physical confrontation. the full report is displayed below. { the information has been used from newsbriefs.com

Dawn Holland, the Betty Ford Center employee who filed a criminal complaint against Lindsay Lohan after an alleged physical confrontation, has been fired for speaking publicly about the incident. A statement on the Betty Ford website reads:

“In the three decades since our doors opened to patients Oct. 4, 1982, the Betty Ford Center and its employees have respected the privacy of our patients, all our patients. Ninety-six thousand women and men have come to the Center for addiction treatment over the past 28 years. When patients come to the Center for treatment, they come to a safe place where their identity is protected, where anonymity is safeguarded. Their simple priority when in treatment is to learn how to live a life free of alcohol and other drugs. Confidentiality and trust are key to the treatment and recovery process. Regrettably, on December 21, 2010, one of our employees violated patients’ confidentiality by talking to the media and by disclosing a privileged document. That employee has been terminated by the Betty Ford Center.”

Holland had given an interview about the incident to TMZ, explaining that the story was already public, that Lohan was vilifying her and that Betty Ford had failed to support her.

which book is better?

Max Remy superspyDiary of a wimpy kid is a magnificent book because of its comic book theme. However, Max Remy has a very good theme, spyforce. The characters are funny and the books are enjoyable. I don’t think there any books apart from diary of a wimpy kid that have a comic book theme. Max Remy is a fantastic book and the missions Max and Linden go on are amazing and sophisticated. Zac power is another book  like Max Remy, but Zac power is more for ages 6-8. Diary of a wimpy has excellent humour and the whole book is like a diary that two friends made together. { that must be why it is called Diary of a wimpy kid} I declare diary of a wimpy kid, better than Max Remy superspy! { I was expecting it to be Max Remy superspy to win!}

time travel

Wii Blue Light

If I could travel in time, I would change the day I hopped onto a plane bound for australia. sadly I will probably never return to London, which is why I would change that day. I would have never left London if time travel was invented. I like living here but it takes a while to adjust! I am happy here since I have spent 4 months here.

this is creepy

If I were in an important meeting or date, and there was an awkward silence. How would I break the silence.

My Apple Pie

I have never been in this situation before. I would break the silence by having a sip of my drink first. Then, if it was a meeting I would say, " How much money is the company making?" This question starts a conversation about the company's daily earnings. If it was a date however, that is a more complicated thing. If you are on a date and there is an awkward silence don not do what you see on television. I would say. "shall we order a snack or dessert?" This question creates a conversation about what we should eat.

panda handler

if I could chose a wild animal for a pet I would chose a panda because they are so easy to handle.

Panda Bear at the ChongQing Zoo ; Chongqing, China

Life with my new pet would be very convenient because when I would go out for walks, I would put my panda on some bamboo and carry it around while it eats and sleeps on the bamboo. The only annoying thing would be that, my whole garden would have to have lots of bamboo, rocks and trees for him to 'exercise" on. He would have a whole floor to himself so he could do this and that on my rug on rainy days. if It wasn't a rainy day, he would go outside into the garden for him to do some "exercise". my relationship with other people would not have anything wrong because the panda would just be outside. people might look at him in-fact.
